The Piskom Mountains ( Uzbek Piskom tizmasi ; Kyrgyz Пскем кырка тоосу ; Russian Пске́мский хребет ) is a mountain range in the far west of the Tienschan .
The Piskom Mountains run NE-SW along the border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan . It has a longitudinal extension of 160 km. The highest point is the Beschtor with 4299 m . The mountains consist of limestone , mica slate and granite . Alpine and subalpine meadow vegetation thrives on the mountain slopes. In the lower elevations and in the valleys there is sparse forest vegetation and juniper heather . The Piskom river valley lies west of the Piskom Mountains. This forms the watershed to the east running rivers Koksu , Sandaltasch and Chatkal . In the north, the Piskom Mountains merge into the Talas-Alatau . The western part of the mountain range is located within the Uzbek Piskom-Chatqol National Park .
