Cho Shin Sung ( kor. 초신성) is a South Korean boy band that is under contract with Mnet Media. The band consists of six members who specialize in singing, dance, acting, rap and pop. Since their debut, the group has been hugely popular in South Korea, Japan, China, Thailand and other East Asian countries.
In other countries the band is known by other names: in China they are called Chao xin xing ( Chinese 超 新星 ), their English name is Supernova and in Japan they are called Chōshinsei ( Japanese 超 新星 ).
Band history
2006: Before the debut
Before today's Choshinsung there were 5 members in the group that was then still called GM5. This consisted of Park Geonil, Kim Sungje, Kim Kwangsu, Song Jihyuk and Jung Jae Hoon. In December 2006 there were changes in the line-up. Jung Jae Hoon dropped out of the group and was replaced by Jung Yoonhak and Kim Jinchul (Jinon by F.Cuz ). They performed together under the name GM6 at the Big4 concert. In December 2006, before their debut, Kim Jinchul left the group and Yoon Sungmo joined the group.
2007: debut
As their name "Supernova" suggests, the six members are geared towards "exploding" in a wide variety of entertainment areas by proving their talents as singers, rappers, dancers and actors. Your self-confidence is based on two and a half years of intensive singing, dance and acting training. To stand out from other boy bands, their clothing style is characterized by sportiness and elegance, which underlines their masculine attractiveness. By participating in various music videos, e.g. B. from Seeya and FT Island , they gained some popularity. They performed at the Big4 concert in December 2006 and were shown in M! Pick Season 6. They were also nominated for "The Best Male Newface Group & Artist of the Year" at the MKMF 2007.
2008
On July 24th, 2008, Choshinsung first visited Thailand and participated in various shows and other events.

In September, the seven made multiple appearances on various music shows to promote the song. A remix version of the song called TTL Listen 2 was released in October 2009. All members of both groups participated in the accompanying music video. Even if the rest of the members of both groups had no active participation in the remix version, they all participated in the promotion of the song from October.
