Chris D. (* 15. January 1953 in Riverside , California as Chris Desjardins ) is an American singer, songwriter , record producer , writer, actor and director. He became known as the founder and singer of the punk rock band The Flesh Eaters from Los Angeles .

biography

Desjardins earned a masters degree in film production and screenwriting in 1977 . However, he turned to the emerging punk music scene.

Musician and producer

In 1977 he founded the punk band The Flesh Eaters with friends , for whose albums he also wrote as a songwriter and producer. He also produced albums by other bands. The Flesh Eaters were active intermittently into the new millennium.

From 1984, during a break from the Flesh Eaters, Desjardins had a new band, "The Divine Horseman", with whom he released several albums until 1987. Their style is attributed to alternative country .

In 1989 Desjardins' album I Pass for Human was released , the band was called "Stone by Stone". The music style went back towards punk, so that Desjardins brought out the group's next album, Dragstrip Riot (1991), again under the name "Flesh Eaters".

In 1995 Desjardins' solo album Love Cannot Die was released .

Author and editor

Desjardins is a writer for various punk and film magazines.

In 1977 he published Bongo Chalice , an anthology of poems by various authors, including Patti Smith . In 1989, Double Snake Bourbon was released with Desjardin's own poems and stories.

In 2005 he published Outlaw Masters of Japanese Film , a collection of articles about Japanese directors. In 2009, A Minute to Pray, a Second to Die was released, a collection of lyrics, poems and stories by Desjardins. In 2013 Gun and Sword - An Encyclopedia of Japanese Gangster Films 1955-1980 was released .

Actor and director

As an actor, Desjardins has appeared in a number of films including Radioactive Dreams (1986), Border Radio (1987), No Way Out (1987), and Lethal Weapon (1987).

His first directorial work I Pass for Human , for which he also wrote the screenplay, was released on DVD in 2006.
