From East Westphalia-Lippe coming Ehrlich Brothers , consisting of brothers Andreas Ehrlich (* 1. February 1978 in Herford , as Andreas Reinelt ) and Christian Ehrlich (* 19th February 1982 in Herford as a Christian Reinelt ) are a German magician duo and official RID world record holder.

Life

The brothers experimented with a magic box as children . Andreas initially studied sports and mathematics for four semesters to become a teacher. Christian was registered to study English and Romance languages, but then completed an apprenticeship as a state-certified pyrotechnician . At the same time, they worked independently under the stage names Andy McJoy and Chris Joker and won various awards. Andreas was accepted into the Magic Circle of Germany when he was eighteen and Christian when he was seventeen .

In 2000 they decided to act together as a duo. Together, based on Siegfried and Roy , they developed elaborate stage shows and sophisticated illusion techniques . On stage, for example, they seem to deform railroad tracks with their bare hands or, within seconds, make trees sprout, on which even fruits grow. According to their role models, the stage shows are designed for large stages and their effect is so spectacular that even David Copperfield wanted to buy two illusions, which the brothers refused. Although they repeatedly emphasize not only to copy the tricks of other magicians, but to develop them further, they adopted illusions such as "The Saw" and "Snow" almost unchanged from David Copperfield .

In 2004 they changed their name to Ehrlich Brothers because, unlike other magicians, they do not want to be placed in a “ supernatural and black magic corner”, but rather understand their illusions as classical entertainment rooted in reality . In July 2012, they performed in front of 10,000 spectators in the TUI Arena in Hanover, in 2013 in the NDR Talk Show and in 2014 at the rock festival Wacken Open Air as well as in Do you understand fun? on.

Andreas Ehrlich is married and has three children. Both live in the Herford district.
