Christopher John Powers (born August 27, 1985 in Lynnfield , Massachusetts ) is a former American ice hockey player with Croatian citizenship, who was last under contract with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb until 2012 .

Career

Chris Powers began his career as a hockey player in the team of Trinity College , for which he was active from 2005 to 2009 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . The defender then received a contract with KHL Medveščak Zagreb for the 2009/10 season , for which he scored a goal and an assist in a total of 63 games in his first season in professional ice hockey in the Austrian ice hockey league . In the 2010/11 season he was able to increase to 13 templates in 58 games. With Medveščak he also won the Croatian championship title in 2010 and 2011 . In 2012 he ended his career.

International

After acquiring Croatian citizenship, Powers took part in the 2012 World Cup in Division I with the Croatian national team and scored the goal in the meantime 5-2 in a 6-3 win over neighboring Serbia .
