Christa Bertels Meier-Kierst (* 25. December 1952 ) is a German specialist in German focusing Philology of the Middle Ages , medieval legal and literary history until the early humanism .

Life

After studying German language and literature , English language and literature , art history and philosophy at the University of Bonn she earned her doctorate in 1985 at the University of Kassel on the reception of Griselda - amendment of Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron in Germany. At the Philipps University of Marburg she then worked in the working group "Marburg Repertory of German-Language Manuscripts of the 13th Century" under the direction of Joachim Heinzle and Helmut Lomnitzer (today part of the Marburg Repertories ). In 1998 she also completed her habilitation at the Philipps University of Marburg. Since September 1999 she has been a professor at the Institute for German Medieval Philology in Marburg. From 2007 to 2012 she headed the project “Marburg Repertory on Translation Literature in Early Humanism”, which is funded by the German Research Foundation.
