Christa Striezel
Christa Striezel (* 28. July 1949 in Hamburg as Christa Herzog ) is a former German track and field athlete . who specialized in the long jump .
successes
Christa Striezel won two German championships:
- 1975 with 6.40 m and
- 1977 with 6.45 m.
In addition, she was runner-up in 1976. At the championships in 1971 she jumped 6.60 m, her personal best, but only came third behind Heide Rosendahl and Ingrid Mickler . Striezel started for Hamburger SV and weighed 58 kg with a height of 1.68 m as a competition weight.
She also appeared several times on an international level:
- At the European Championships in Helsinki in 1971 she was seventh with 6.40 m (the winner, Ingrid Mickler, jumped 6.76 m).
- In the final competitions for the European Cup, she achieved two podium places:
- 1975 in Nice : 2nd place with 6.56 m behind Lidija Alfejewa from the Soviet Union, who won 6.76 m
- 1977 in Helsinki: 2nd place with 6.39 m behind Brigitte Künzel from the GDR who was victorious with 6.76 m
On the other hand, she had no luck with her only participation in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal . With a moderate 6.09 m she clearly missed the final of the top 12 and came in 19th.
After finishing her active career, Christa Striezel worked together with her husband Wolfgang as a trainer for MTV Hanstedt .
