Christel Schuran-Simmert

Christel Schuran-Simmert (born June 2, 1950 in Hanover ; † October 24, 2014 ) was a German politician ( GREEN ) and from 1982 to 1986 a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After attending elementary school, secondary school and grammar school in Hanover, Christel Schuran-Simmert completed a pedagogy degree at the Hanover University of Education. From 1978 she worked as a teacher at a school for the learning disabled in Salzgitter . Her political commitment began in 1980 in the course of the dispute over the planned storage of nuclear waste in the Konrad mine . She became a member of the Greens party and was involved in the Salzgitter district association.

In the 10th electoral period - from June 1982 to June 1986 - she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. From June 1982 to June 1983 she was deputy chairman of the Greens parliamentary group. She was a member of the Committee for Internal Affairs and the 10th Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry, which examined the cooperation between the Lower Saxony authorities and the undercover agent Werner Mauss .

Christel Schuran-Simmert was married and had two children.
