Christianity in the Philippines

The Christianity in the Philippines was the Spanish colonial rule marked, which today (2018) more than 90% of the population Christians are. The Philippines is the Asian country where most of the Christians live. About 20% of Christians belong to Anglican ( Independent Philippine Church , Episcopal Church of the Philippines ) or Protestant churches ( Iglesia ni Cristo , Baptists , United Methodist Church, etc.), and about 80% to the Roman Catholic Church . Other faiths in the country are Muslim (7%) and Buddhists (3%). The Muslims are represented with many mosques , especially in the south .

Religious freedom has existed in the Philippines since the beginning of the 20th century. However, no religious instruction is given in schools.
