Christiaan Paul Damsté

Christiaan Paul Damsté (* 1944 in Arnhem ) is a contemporary Dutch artist .

He studied art from 1962 to 1970 at the art academies in Arnhem, 's-Hertogenbosch and Ghent and now lives and works in Arnhem. From 1972 to 2005 he taught at the art academies in The Hague , Amersfoort , Düsseldorf and Arnhem.

Damsté works in almost all art disciplines: as a painter (abstract landscape paintings), graphic artist, draftsman and sculptor. His collages of materials and his iron sculptures made of scrap and wood are best known. He is one of the most famous contemporary artists in the Netherlands with a strong presence in Germany. Around 40 of his landscape paintings can be viewed in the Moyland Castle Museum .
