Christian Archibald Herter

Christian Archibald Herter (born September 3, 1865 in Glenville , Connecticut , † December 5, 1910 ) was an American physician and pathologist. He co-founded the Journal of Biological Chemistry .

Herter received his PhD from Columbia University in 1885 . He then continued his studies at Johns Hopkins University under William Henry Welch and Auguste-Henri Forel in Zurich.

In 1897 he became professor of pathological chemistry at the University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College . In 1903 he became Professor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Columbia University.
