Christian August Freiherr von Friesen (* 12. May 1646 in Sulzbach , † 1681 ) was Reichshofrat and 1663-1681 dean to Meissen .

family

Christian August came from the Saxon noble family von Friesen and was the son of the manor owner Carl von Friesen (1619–1686) and his wife Justina née von Raaben (1619–1691). He was married to Christina von Offenberg (1650–1687). The electoral Saxon general Christian August von Friesen (1674–1737) was his son. The diplomat and director of the Privy Council Heinrich von Friesen was his uncle.

Life

Christian August Freiherr von Friesen zu Rotha and Rotta was imperial councilor, Saxon councilor and chamberlain, president of the chapter in Meissen and Werra and captain of the electoral prefectures of Hayna and Zabeltitz.

On May 24, 1675, Christian August Baron von Friesen with the nickname Jason II. Was accepted as a member ( registration number 56 ) of the Academia Naturae Curiosorum , today's German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina .
