Christian Bindhammer (born March 27, 1976 ) is a German entrepreneur and former competitive climber .

Life

Bindhammer started his competitive career in 1993 and has been successful since 1994. In 1995 he became Junior World Champion. From 1996 to 2003, the climber, who has his strengths in lead climbing, won the German championship eight times in a row. He achieved his ninth title in 2007 at the German Championship in Frankenthal. Bindhammer also dominated the German Sport Climbing Cup.

The greatest international success for Christian Bindhammer was the victory at the Rockmaster in Arco in 2001. He also achieved three second places in World Cup events - Valence 2004, Kuala Lumpur 2001, Vienna 1999 -, a third place at the 1998 European Championships in Nuremberg and fourth place in the 2004 World Championships in Chamonix. He made his last international appearance in 2009 at the climbing World Cup in the Chinese Qinghai .

His favorite climbing region is the south of France. He also managed some very difficult routes on the natural rock, including a repetition of the Route Action Directe (“XI” UIAA ) and the first ascent “Big Hammer” (9a French) in Pinswang and of “The Maze” (9a French) and “ Monster Maze ”(9a / 9a + French) in the climbing area“ Neues Tiefenbach ”in the Allgäu .

Bindhammer was the most successful German competitive climber since 1993. He lives with his wife and child in the Allgäu.
