Christian Crusius (Mayor)

Christian Crusius (born February 12, 1636 in Chemnitz ; † April 21, 1712 there ) was a senator, city judge, tax collector and mayor of the city of Chemnitz.

Life

Christian Crusius was the eldest son of Atlas Crusius , who was also mayor of Chemnitz, and his first wife Maria Steiner. He studied in Braunschweig in 1654, then in Helmstädt and Altdorf. In 1667 he was councilor and in 1672 city judge (" praetor "). From 1680 he held the office of ruling mayor a total of 13 times. Christian Crusius had five children born in wedlock with his wife Dorothea geb. Engelmann.

Together with his half-brother Johann Georg Crusius (* June 23, 1660; † August 21, 1732) he donated the school library in Chemnitz.

He was buried in the Johanniskirche " between the black and large gate number 84 next to his uncle Tranquillus ".

His family list is contained in the family list of his grandfather Balthasar Crusius .
