Christian Fiegl

Christian Fiegl (born July 25, 1940 in Sölden ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and hotelier in the Ötztal . From 1984 to 1987 he was a member of the Federal Council and from 1987 to 1994 a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .

education and profession

Fiegl first attended elementary school in his home town of Sölden and then switched to secondary school in Landeck . He subsequently learned the profession of photographer and also passed the journeyman's examination in his learned profession. As a result, he worked as a photographer, practicing his trade in Sölden. He later became managing director of Café Hubertus Christian Fiegl OHG as well as managing director of the "Hubertus" hotel. His hotel has 35 rooms and is located in the center of Sölden.

Politics and functions

Christian Fiegl was involved in the Austrian People's Party and was a member of the Austrian Economic Association . From 1978 he held the position of local group chairman of the Austrian Economic Association in Sölden and also worked as the district group chairman of the Austrian Economic Association in the Imst district . In addition, he was chairman of the Sölden Tourist Association and from 1984 also chairman of the Innerötztal Tourist Association. In addition, from 1980 he was district chairman of the tourism section in the Chamber of Commerce for Tyrol and district chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in the Imst district. Fiegl was also involved as a councilor of the tourism section of the Chamber of Commerce for Tyrol and represented the Tyrolean People's Party from July 10, 1984 to March 4, 1987 in the Austrian Federal Council. From 1987 to 1994 he was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament.

Private

Fiegl almost lost his life in an accident and spent around two and a half years in the intensive care unit or with hospital and rehabilitation stays. He is the father of three children and has one brother.
