Christian Friedrich Knorr

Christian Friedrich Knorr (born December 19, 1646 in Osterode am Harz ; † January 4, 1704 ibid) was a German Lutheran theologian, consistorial councilor and general superintendent of the general diocese of Grubenhagen and the Harz region .

Life

Knorr, a son of the government councilor Dr. Balthasar Knorr, received private tuition and attended the Walkenried monastery school from 1663 before he began studying at the University of Rinteln in 1667 . In 1671 he moved to the University of Jena . After a trip through Switzerland, France, England and the Netherlands, he completed his studies on May 29, 1676 as Lic. Theol. in Helmstedt . In 1675 he became pastor and superintendent at the St. Jacobi Castle Church in Osterode. From 1677 he was also general superintendent for the principality of Grubenhagen. In 1687 he became a member of the consistory in Hanover.
