Christian Gienapp
Christian Gienapp (born August 25, 1949 in Gnoien ) is a German agricultural scientist and politician ( CDU ).
Life
Gienapp passed the Abitur and studied at the Agricultural Faculty of the University of Rostock and at the Biology Section of the Humboldt University in Berlin . He graduated in the field of plant physiology . He then became an assistant at the Humboldt University. After receiving his doctorate in Berlin in 1976, he was promoted to senior research assistant at the Institute for Plant Breeding in Gülzow , which was part of the GDR Academy of Agricultural Sciences .
In the 1980s, Gienapp headed the plant protection office in the Güstrow district and the Schwerin - Rostock district working group of the central office for plant varieties. In 1991 he became the representative of the state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for the formation of the state research institute for agriculture and fisheries. In 1992 he was appointed acting director there, a year later director and professor of the state research institute, and also head of the institute for arable and crop production.
In 1990 Gienapp was elected directly to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the constituency of Güstrow I , to which he was a member until 1992, before he accepted the tasks at the state research institute. He was also president of the Güstrow district council from 1990 to 1994 and honorary mayor of Gülzow from 1990 to 2004.
Gienapp has been married since 1972 and has a daughter and a son.
