Christian Gottfried Hermann
Christian Gottfried Hermann (born February 5, 1743 in Plauen ; † August 8, 1813 in Leipzig ) was a Saxon lawyer and between 1794 and 1811 mayor of the city of Leipzig nine times .
Career
Hermann's father Johann Gottfried Hermann was initially superintendent in Plauen, later senior court preacher, senior church councilor and senior consortium assessor in Dresden. Hermann started studying law at the University of Leipzig in 1763 . During his studies he made friends with Johann Wolfgang von Goethe . 1767 Hermann was organized by the Law Faculty of the University of Leipzig with the investigation "De curiis imperatorum et regum Germanicorum sollemnibus earumque a comitiis Imperii differentia" Dr. iur. PhD.
In the same year he was elected to the City Council of Leipzig. In the following years he was appointed city judge (1778), master builder (1781), proconsul (1789) and scabinus. In the years 1794, 1796, 1798, 1800, 1803, 1805, 1807, 1809 and 1811 Hermann was the mayor of Leipzig.
Since 1768, Hermann was the royal Saxon court judge.
