Christian Helminger (born February 1, 1964 ) is a former Austrian soccer player and now coach .

Career

As a player

Helminger was a member of the professional squad of SV Austria Salzburg from 1983 . He made his debut for Austria Salzburg in the 1st Division in October 1983 when he came on as a substitute for Hans-Gerd Schildt on the ninth matchday of the 1983/84 season against SK Rapid Wien in the 66th minute . With the club he had to relegate in 1985 from the top division. Up to that point in time, Helminger had played 13 first division games. In 1989 he rose again to the 1st division with the Salzburg team.

He then joined the second division LASK in 1989 . After a season with the Linzers he moved to Germany for the 1990/91 season for SpVgg Oberfranken Bayreuth . He played for Bayreuth for four seasons. In 1994 he returned to Austria and joined the ATSV Trimmelkam . In January 1996 he moved to the regional division ASVÖ FC Puch . In his one and a half years with Puch, he completed 42 regional league games.

For the 1998/99 season Helminger moved to SK Altheim . He then played for USV Eggelsberg / Moosdorf , ASK Salzburg , SV Bürmoos , 1. Halleiner SK , USV St. Georgen , SK Oberndorf and Union Geretsberg . He played his last game for Geretsberg in September 2007.

As a trainer

In 2006 Helminger acted as the trainer of the fourth-class SK Oberndorf . From 2007 to 2008 he trained the Union Geretsberg . He then worked, among other things, as a sports director at ATSV Trimmelkam , which he also briefly trained from October 2013.
