Christian Johann Friedrich Peters
Christian Johann Friedrich Peters (* 1822 ; † December 12, 1889 in Wustrow ) was a German teacher at the Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Navigation School in Wustrow and author of the first historically coherent description of the Fischland .
Life
Peters taught German and mathematics at the navigation school from 1850 to 1884. It was a thorn in his side that the previously published writings on the Fischland were, according to his assessment, incomplete and incorrect. He then did his own research and self-published "Das Land Swante Wustrow oder das Fischland" in 1862. It is considered the region's first homeland book. A second edition appeared in 1884 and a third in 1926.
