Christian Kert (born July 25, 1946 in Salon-de-Provence ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 1988 .

Kert grew up in Salon-de-Provence and studied law in Aix-en-Provence . He became a supporter of Christian Democracy , worked for a newspaper with this ideology and entered the city council of Salon-de-Provence in 1977. In 1983 he was promoted to deputy mayor of the city. In the 11th constituency of the Bouches-du-Rhône department , he was elected to the National Assembly in 1988, first for the UDF . He was re-elected in 1993, 1997, 2002, 2007 and 2012. He joined the UMP, founded in 2002 .
