Christian Lenk (philosopher)

Christian Lenk (* 4. June 1971 in Eschwege ) is a German philosopher and medical ethicist, in particular, handles issues of research ethics , the neuro-enhancement deals and righteousness and medicine. Steering was 2008-2009 Fellow of the prestigious Leverhulme Foundation and currently heads the EU research project Tiss.EU .

Lenk studied philosophy, political science and ethnology at the University of Hamburg from 1992 to 1998 . From 1998 to 2002 he worked in several DFG initiatives in Marburg and Münster and did his doctorate with Kurt Bayertz with a thesis on enhancement . From 2002 to 2004, Lenk was a research associate in the Ethics and History of Medicine department at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . There he completed his habilitation in 2008 with a thesis on research ethics and acquired the venia legendi for medical ethics. From 2008 to 2009, Lenk was a Leverhulme Fellow at the Center for Philosophy, Humanities and Law in Health Care at Swansea University . He currently heads the research association Tiss.EU, which is funded by the European Union, and with his work makes a significant contribution to the evaluation of medical ethics and legal considerations in tissue research .
