Christian Ludwig Charisius

Christian Ludwig Charisius (born February 21, 1692 in Königsberg (Prussia) , † January 24, 1741 ibid) was a German physician.

Life

The son of Professor Karl Heinrich Charisius and his wife Maria (née Oeder) received his first training at his place of birth. In 1701 he was enrolled at the University of Königsberg , where he enrolled again in 1707 and began studying medicine. After he had also dealt with legal studies, he received his doctorate on December 3, 1715 as a doctor of medicine. In 1717 he became an associate professor at the medical faculty in Königsberg, in 1720 he rose to the fourth full professorship and in 1728 he was appointed second full professor. On March 10, 1728, he was a member of the Berlin Societät der Wissenschaften and in 1738 was appointed royal councilor and personal physician. In addition, he also took part in the organizational tasks of the Königsberg University and was rector of the Alma Mater in the winter semesters 1729/30, 1733/34, 1737/38 .

In 1728 he was elected as a foreign member of what was then the Royal Prussian Society of Sciences .
