Christian Marth (medical doctor)

Christian Marth (* 1959 in Meran ) is a gynecologist , university professor for gynecology and obstetrics at the Medical University of Innsbruck and head of the university clinic for gynecology and obstetrics in Innsbruck.

Life

Christian Marth grew up in Lana and studied medicine in Graz and Innsbruck. He began his career from 1981 to 1985 as a research assistant at the University Clinic for Gynecology Innsbruck in the reproductive laboratory and received his doctorate in 1985. He completed his specialist training from 1985 to 1991 as a university assistant also at the University Clinic Innsbruck. In 1991 Marth not only passed the specialist examination, it was also the year of his habilitation with the topic: Influencing ovarian cancer cells by biological modulators of the cell response . From 1995 to 1996 he was deputy senior physician at the University Clinic for Gynecology Innsbruck, 1996–1998 senior physician at the department for gynecological oncology in the Det Norske Radium Hospital in Oslo with C. Tropé. Since 1998 he has been director of the University Clinic for Gynecology in Innsbruck.

Further stays abroad took him to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center New York, and the University of California, Los Angeles , the National Institute of Health in Bethesda and the universities in Houston, Berkeley, Monza and Brussels.

Marth is a member of numerous national and international specialist societies.
