Christian Meyer (born October 24, 1947 on Lake Thun / Canton Bern ) is a Swiss journalist , editor-in-chief and author .

Life

Christian Meyer studied business administration (federal diploma, with distinction) at the Swiss Institute for Business Administration in Zurich. Previously, he obtained his diploma (also with distinction) at the Swiss Hotel Management School in Lucerne (Switzerland). Trained in hotel administration, but also in practice-related areas such as kitchen, service, beverage / wine studies / bar, he initially aimed for a career in the luxury hotel industry, which culminated in a position as receptionist / chef de réception in a grand hotel at the age of only 23. Convinced that large quantities of high quality food can be produced / processed, he then switched to the food industry. In 1982 he founded a small specialty food company that he later sold. Fascinated by the media and inspired by the idea of ​​living out his creative sides as a journalist and photographer, he has been working in the media industry since 1997, initially as an editor, later as a department head in the specialist press (food & beverage, hotel / tourism). From 2003 he has been editor-in-chief, author and photographer in the hotel, gastronomy, food, tourism, travel, social and health issues and lifestyle sectors.

Private

Christian Meyer is married, has two grown children and lives in Zurich (from 2021). He is a passionate hobby cook, is constantly on the hunt for excellent ingredients for new dishes and likes to experiment with new methods in the kitchen. He also takes photos in his free time and loves exercise: racing bike, jogging, mountain hiking.
