Christian Paillier

Christian Paillier (born October 28, 1936 in Baignes , France ) is a former French cyclist .

Athletic career

Paillier became known for his participation in road cycling races , in which he rode as an amateur until he was 26 years old. In 1961 he achieved a third place in a road criterion in Royan, France . He was a member of the French national team on the 1962 International Peace Tour from East Berlin via Prague to Warsaw . He won the sixth stage from Karlovy Vary to Prague and was fifth out of six French riders in the final ranking, 62nd out of 80 riders. In 1963, Pallier was also part of the French peacekeeping squad, but left the tour prematurely.

Also in 1963, Pallier switched to the professional driver's camp . He signed a contract with the French cycling team Peugeot-BP-Englebert , with which the two German riders, the cyclo-cross world champion Rolf Wolfshohl and the German champion from 1961 Karl-Heinz Kunde , were also under contract. The only known podium from Pallier's professional time is second place in a criterion in 1965 in Sainte-Alvère, France .
