Christian Peterka

Christian Peterka (born August 13, 1962 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and community worker. From January to November 2010 he was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council .

Peterka attended primary school Vienna 21 ( Brünner Strasse ) between 1968 and 1972 and then from 1972 to 1976 the AHS Vienna 21 (Franklinstrasse). Peterka graduated from the TGM Vienna in 1976 , where he passed the Matura in June 1981. Peterka then completed his military service in the Landwehr Trunk Regiment 21 in Vienna from October 1981 to March 1982 and then worked as a delivery driver in April 1982. In May 1982 he entered the service of Wiener Stadtwerke / Elektrizitätswerke and worked from 1982 to 1985 as a customer advisor in technical customer service. In March 1983 he passed the service examination for specialist civil servants in the technical service and was awarded the title of engineer in May 1985.

From 1985 to 1991 Peterka was employed as a technical advisor for low and high voltage networks in the Schwechat and Baden regions, and from 1991 to 2000 he was in charge of project management for rational and innovative electricity applications at Wienstrom GmbH. Since 2000 he has been the deputy head of the sales and customer service department at Wien Energie and is head of the municipal and agricultural customer segment. In April 2018 Christian Peterka switched to Wiener Netzen and has since been responsible for the issues of the Lower Austrian municipalities in the network area as a municipal supervisor.

Peterka started his political career as district chairman of the young generation , where he held the function of district chairman in the SPÖ Floridsdorf from 1995 to 2000 and the office of deputy chairman of Vienna from 1997 to 1999. Since 2000 he has also been deputy chairman of the Association of Social Democratic Academics, Intellectuals, Artists Floridsdorf, deputy chairman of "Education 21" of the SPÖ Floridsdorf and since 2002 deputy chairman of the BSA / VSI / Wienstrom section. In 2006 he also became a member of the District Board 21 of the Association of Social Democratic Freedom Fighters, a victim of fascism and active anti-fascists, and in 2007 he became a member of the expanded education committee of the SPÖ Vienna Education. In addition, Peterka has been the chairman of Section 20 of the SPÖ Floridsdorf since 2008 and represented the SPÖ Floridsdorf between June 2000 and January 2010 in the district council. After Günther Reiter withdrew from the Vienna State Parliament and City Council, Peterka moved up as a member of parliament on January 27, 2010. From the 2010 Viennese state and local council elections until March 2014, he again represented the SPÖ in the Floridsdorf district council.
