Christian Poglitsch (born April 13, 1969 ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and entrepreneur. From 2009 to 2013, Poglitsch was a member of the Carinthian state parliament . He was a member of the Federal Council from March 28, 2013 to April 11, 2018.

Life

After finishing elementary and secondary school, Poglitsch graduated from the commercial school in Villach . He is professionally active as managing director of Familiencamping Poglitsch.

Politically, Poglitsch has been active in Finkenstein as deputy party chairman and councilor since 2003 . In 2008 he was elected district party chairman of the ÖVP Villach-Land. Poglitsch ran in the state elections in 2009 as a top candidate in the constituency of Villach and made it into the state parliament. He was sworn in as a member of the state parliament on March 31, 2009 and switched to the Austrian Federal Council on March 28, 2013 . After the state elections in Carinthia in 2018 , he left the Federal Council.

He has been the mayor of the municipality of Finkenstein am Faaker See since the 2015 municipal council election . There, the ÖVP has appointed the mayor for the first time in 61 years.

Poglitsch is married and has a daughter and a son. He lives in Faak am See .
