Christian Ring (born January 4, 1973 in Nabburg ) is a former German grass skier . Ring won three bronze medals at the World Grass Skiing Championships and four medals at the European Grass Skiing Championships .

Life

With his first participation in international competitions, Ring won the bronze medal in slalom at the European Grass Ski Championships in 1992. He was able to defend this two years later at the next European Championship. At the European Championships in 1996 he won the silver medal in the giant slalom and Super G competition.

Between 1994 and 1999 he won the German Grass Ski Championships six times. In 1994 he became German slalom champion and the following year German champion in giant slalom. In 1998 and 1999 he won the German championship title in two competitions each, in 1998 in slalom and in giant slalom, in 1999 in giant slalom and in Super G.

In addition, he won the German Cup six times in 1989, 1990 and 1992 , three times in the slalom and three times in the giant slalom.

At the 1999 Grass Ski World Championships, he won the bronze medal in the giant slalom. In 2001 he played his last European and World Cup. At the 2001 Grass Ski World Championships, he came third in the giant slalom and in the Super G on the podium. A year later, in his last year as an active member of the German Ski Association, he was among the top 10 in the overall ranking of the Germany Cup and won four more races in the competition series, most recently in Ehrenfriedersdorf.
