European Grass Ski Championships
The European Grass Ski Championship was a sporting event in which the European champions in the grass ski disciplines were determined in various races . The first European championship took place in 1976. It was held annually until 1978, after which it took place every two years, alternating with the grass ski world championship , until from 1997 only the world championship was held. From the beginning, the European champions were chosen in the disciplines of slalom, giant slalom and combined, from 1988 also those in the super-G.

The European champions
By far the most successful grass skier of the twelve European championships was Ingrid Hirschhofer from Austria. She won 16 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze medals over a period of 20 years. In second place in the medal table is the German Katja Krey , who won 4 gold and 4 silver medals at two European championships in 1988 and 1990.
Among the men, the Swiss Richi Christen was the most successful. From 1980 to 1988 he won 6 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals. Marcus Peschek from Austria is just behind . From 1988 to 1994 he also won 6 gold and 4 silver medals, but no bronze medal.
