Christian Sauter (born February 11, 1988 in Bad Saulgau ) is a German soccer player . He has been playing for SSV Ulm 1846 since summer 2016 .
Career
Christian Sauter was born in Bad Saulgau in Swabia , and when he was six he went to FC Ostrach in the neighboring community . At the age of 14 he was accepted into the youth team at VfB Stuttgart . With the U-17 of the club he became German B-Junior Champion, with the U-19 A-Junior Champion. He was then appointed to the DFB junior team and took part with the German U-19 national team in the U-19 European Championship in Austria in 2007 , where the DFB team reached the semi-finals. Later he also played in the German U-20.
In the last A youth year he was also used as a defender in VfB's U-23. He then moved to the second team in the Regionalliga Süd for the 2007/08 season . There he did not get a chance and was only reinstated at the end of the first half of the season. After the winter break he was loaned to the league competitor SSV Reutlingen , where he played regularly.
After the loan ended, Sauter moved to SSV Ulm 1846 in July 2008 , where he was also used in the Regionalliga Süd. He switched from defense to defensive midfield and was a fixture in the team for two years, but without playing a season. In the third year he had played almost the entire first half of the season when the club filed for bankruptcy and withdrew from the game. During the winter break he switched to the 3rd division for free to 1. FC Heidenheim, who had been interested in the midfielder for a long time. Christian Sauter played his first third division game for Heidenheim on February 4, 2011, when he was substituted on in the 78th minute of the game against 1. FC Saarbrücken . In the course of the second half of the season he was able to establish himself in the professional league. In the 2011/12 season Sauter was finally a regular in the defensive midfield and reached fourth place in the league with Heidenheim, the best result in the club's history in professional football.
For the 2014/15 season he moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken . In the summer of 2016, Sauter was signed by the regional league promoted SSV Ulm.
