Christian Simon (born May 30, 1970 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a former German soccer player .

career

In his youth, Simon played for SV St.Märgen , FC Furtwangen and finally got to SC Freiburg via FC Neustadt in 1990 .

First he played there in the amateur team in the national league. However, as the top scorer in the regional league in the 90/91 season, he should quickly draw attention to himself and join the professional team of the sports club under coach Volker Finke . He completed his first professional season 91/92 in the 2nd Bundesliga . In the 92/93 season he contributed three goals to the rise of the SC. But he never quite made the breakthrough: He only played one year in the Bundesliga and had to leave the sports club at the end of the season after only one goal in eleven games (against SG Wattenscheid 09 ) because his contract was not renewed. Relegation with the SC and 15th place in the first division that season should remain Simon's greatest sporting success.

He then played a year in the second division at 1. FC Saarbrücken , where he scored four goals. After only one season in Saarland, he went to league rivals SpVgg Unterhaching . In 1997 he left the Hachinger and in 2000 he moved to SC Pfullendorf in the Regionalliga Süd . He only stayed there for a year and then hired the league competitor SV Darmstadt 98 .

In 2003 he moved to FC Nöttingen in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . With the team, he once made promotion to the regional league, but this was followed by relegation. Most recently, Simon played for the club's second team and played for 1. FC 08 Birkenfeld from 2010 before retiring.

Overall, Simon played eleven times in the Bundesliga and scored one goal. He has also played 77 second division games with 14 goals and 106 regional league games with twelve goals.
