Christian Sprenger (born April 29, 1968 in Berlin ) is a German flautist .

Life

Sprenger studied under Werner Tast in Berlin and was a prize winner in various competitions. While still a student, he received his first engagement in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.

In 1989 he was engaged as a musician in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra . In 1995 he became principal flutist with the MDR Symphony Orchestra in Leipzig. He is a member of the MDR Wind Quintet , the Leipzig Chamber Symphony and the Quintessenz - Leipzig Flute Ensemble. Concert tours have taken him to Italy, Turkey, the United States and the United Kingdom. In 1995 he changed to the position of solo flute in the symphony orchestra of the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, where shortly afterwards he founded the MDR wind quintet with colleagues. This ensemble has made a name for itself primarily through numerous radio productions, CD recordings and world premieres. In 1996 he initiated the founding of the now internationally successful Leipzig flute ensemble Quintessenz, in which he primarily specialized in the bass flute. Sprenger organizes project-related chamber music, which is also characterized by the interplay, for example, with literature and painting. He is also a guest chamber music partner in other ensembles such as the Gewandhaus String Quartet, the Gewandhaus Wind Quintet, the Leipzig String Quartet, the Armonia Ensemble, the Salon Orchestra Cappuccino and others. a.
