Christian T. Petersen (Linguist)

Christian Tobias Petersen (* 1963 ) is a German historian and Indo-Europeanist .

Life

Petersen studied linguistics and theology at the University of Kiel . He graduated there in 1992 and received his doctorate in 1999. He is a student of Ernst A. Ebbinghaus , Werner Winter , Knut Schäferdiek , Martin Metzger and Herbert Donner .

Petersen publishes in the field of German studies , especially on the Gothic language . These include the Gotica Minora series , which takes up older studies and puts them into an overall context. As a theologian, he also publishes a work on Christian demonology .

More recently, he has also published articles on military history and defense history.
