Christian Wallot (born November 16, 1978 in Memmingen ) is a former German boxer .

Career

Wallot first played in the youth soccer team of FC Memmingen in the Bayern League. He has boxed for BC Wangen since the age of 14 and was Württemberg champion in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996. Between 1994 and 1996 he was South German master. At the South German Championships in 1996, he defeated the previously undefeated Bundesliga boxer Jürgen Hartenstein from Baden. He was the youngest athlete to take part in the German Senior Championships in Riesa , where he lost to Sven Ottke just on points in the semifinals . After Ottke switched to professional life, Wallot was called up to the national team several times. In five appearances he won three times, lost to Jorge Gutiérrez and reached a draw. In 1998, Wallot was German runner-up in the middleweight division in Cuxhaven.

In 2002, Wallot moved to Velbert and boxed as a relay captain in the Bundesliga team. Wallot was several times Lower Rhine and West German light heavyweight champions for the Velbert boxing club . Boxing promoter Wilfried Sauerland watched him during his fight against the Hungarian champion Balazs Varga from Kecskemét , which Wallot won by giving up the opponent in the fourth round.

On November 28, 2007, Wallot played his farewell match against Valeri Quade in Wangen / Allgäu .

In 2008 Wallot boxed again in the 1st Boxing Bundesliga for BC Wacker Gotha, as they had a staff shortage. In Berlin he lost against the then reigning European heavyweight champion Robert Helenius with 4: 8 on points and a week later in Velbert in the light heavyweight against the multiple German champion and chemistry cup winner Robert Woge .

After his boxing career, the trained insurance salesman Wallot completed further training at the German Insurance Academy , which he completed in 2012 as an insurance business economist (DVA) .
