Christian Josef Graf Kinsky von und zu Wchinitz-Tettau (also Christian Joseph Kinsky ) (born January 28, 1822 in Budapest , † September 1, 1894 in Matzen ), was a nobleman from the Austrian branch of the Kinsky family and in the second half 19th century member of the House of Representatives of the Reichsrat and Land Marshal of Lower Austria .

Life

Kinsky was the youngest son of Christian Kinsky von Wchinitz and Tettau and Countess Ernestine, née Poirot de Blainville. He was a soldier and first lieutenant in the Austrian army and landowner in Angern and Matzen in Lower Austria. After the revolution of 1848/49 and the restoration of the constitutional monarchy, Kinsky also became active in politics. In the early 1860s he was a member of the Lower Austrian Landtag. On March 24, 1863, the state parliament delegated him to the Reichsrat in the curia of large landowners. His inauguration took place on June 17, 1863. The state parliament again in 1867 and 1871. In the direct elections to the Reichsrat in 1873, he again won a Lower Austrian mandate in the curia of large landowners, which he successfully defended in the 1879 election. He made a name for himself as a member of the large estates loyal to the Constitution , but declared himself a member of the Liberal Club in October 1879 .

In the years 1884-1893 he was Land Marshal of Lower Austria and as such the chairman of the Lower Austrian Parliament .

He was married to Therese (1828–1905), née Countess von Wrbna and Freudenthal . The marriage produced five sons.
