Prince Josef Franz Hieronymus von Colloredo-Mannsfeld (born February 26, 1813 , † April 22, 1895 in Vienna ) was an Austrian statesman .

Life

Josef Franz Hieronymus von Colloredo-Mannsfeld was a son of Count Ferdinand von Colloredo-Mannsfeld († 1848), who was known for his efforts for the prosperity of Lower Austria . Initially embarking on a military career, he entered the army and advanced to major . In 1852 he inherited the title of prince and important Fideikommiss dominions from his cousin Franz de Paula Gundaccar II von Colloredo-Mannsfeld , became treasurer in 1857, president of the state debt repayment commission in 1859, member of the strengthened Imperial Council in 1860 and of the manor house in 1861. He was then from 1861–67 Land Marshal of the Lower Austrian Landtag , from 1867 a member of the Bohemian Landtag and 1868–69 President of the manor house. Colloredo was one of the most loyal and influential supporters of the German-Austrian constitutional party .

In 1841 Colloredo-Mannsfeld married Maria Theresia von Lebzeltern. His eldest son, Count Hieronymus Ferdinand Rudolf (* July 20, 1842, † July 29, 1881) was elected to the Bohemian state parliament by the constitutional landowners in 1871 and took over the agriculture ministry in the Auersperg cabinet on May 19, 1875. The daughter Ida married Leopold von Gudenus in 1877 .
