Christian von Tschilschke

Christian von Tschilschke (born April 12, 1966 in Wasserburg am Inn ) is a German Romanist .

Live and act

Von Tschilschke studied Romance Studies, Slavic Studies and Philosophy at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Lyon II between 1987 and 1994 . He then worked as a research assistant at Arnold Rothe's (* 1935) chair and received his doctorate in 1999. His dissertation novel and film. Cinematic writing in the French post-avant-garde novel was awarded the Prix Germaine de Staël of the Franco-Romanists Association.

From 2000 to 2006 von Tschilschke was a research assistant at Jochen Mecke's chair at the University of Regensburg , where he completed his habilitation there in 2006 on the topic of Identity of Enlightenment / Enlightenment of Identity. Literature and Identity Discourse in 18th Century Spain . He then worked as a senior scientific assistant in Regensburg. After a visiting professorship at the University of Innsbruck in 2006, von Tschilschke initially took over a professorship at the University of Siegen , before accepting a professorship for Romance literature and gender studies. Since April 2019 he has been Professor of Romance Philology (focus on Spanish Literature) at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster .

His main research interests include the intermediality theory, the theory and practice of the relationships between literature and film / TV, the theory, history and didactics of French, Spanish and Latin American cinema, docufiction, Spanish literature and culture of the 18th century, the Spanish discourse on Africa and French and Spanish literature and culture of the 20th century and the present.
