education

The training is divided into three sections: the foundation year with a focus on the acquisition of physical flexibility and permeability, as well as emotional opening. In the second year of training, entrance exams for the three subject areas of drama, theater pedagogy, language arts / speech pedagogy take place, followed by a two-year in-depth study. In the final year, subject-specific final exams with state-recognized qualifications take place.

Specializing in acting

The aim of the training is to pass the state stage maturity test and to be included in the database of the ZAV artist agency in Stuttgart. The basis of the training is the development of the individual playful imagination, artistic inspiration, expressiveness and versatility, as well as the graduate's physical and linguistic skills. A team of actors, coaches and directors offer holistic training for stage, film and television based on personal development in acting courses, workshops and individual sessions. Participation in productions of the Theater Kompagnie Stuttgart enables practical relevance to theater operations. The title of theater pedagogue BuT is protected as a word mark and may only be used by graduates of advanced or full training. In terms of its content, it is comparable to the diploma / bachelor's degree in the postgraduate course at a university. The TAS is recognized as a full BuT training. Important aspects of the teaching content are artistic, practical game, pedagogical and socio-pedagogical, as well as technical-theoretical qualifications. In the artistic as well as in the pedagogical part of the training, practical relevance is the focus of the course: after two years of basic acting training, internships, own directing projects and supervised projects outside the school at focus schools, kindergartens or refugee institutions follow and establish practical relevance to educational issues.

Forum theater based on Augusto Boal , playback theater, biographical theater and Jeux Dramatiques are theater-pedagogical tools for dealing with violence, addiction or migration issues. In drama therapy , or artistic therapy , the main mental illnesses and their therapy options are dealt with.

Specializing in speech art / speech pedagogy

In the course of training, the focus is on the professionalization of artistic speaking and its performative application on the stage, as well as the educational and / or therapeutic application of language. The basic training in acting and theater pedagogy is part of the range of subjects for the first two years of training. Literary history, metrics / poetics, anatomy and pedagogy form the theoretical basis; Recitation evenings, language performance projects or educational projects in kindergartens or refugee institutions make up the practical part of the training.

One focus of the training is on working on the authentic expression of personality, prerequisites are the training of self-worth, self-perception, mindfulness and empathy. In addition to conveying the content of the text, tracing back to the elements of artistic speaking into sound, syllable, word and rhythm is a central concern of the work. The aim is to raise the awareness of hearing, which enables the speaker to differentiate between the spoken word.

particularities

In an additional year, the state-recognized qualification for the second course is possible.
  • the close cooperation with the Theater Kompagnie Stuttgart
The ensemble consists of lecturers and students from TAS. Classics of world literature are developed in the focus of the game board. The company appears nationwide on a subscription to city theaters and also combines a theater-pedagogical concern with its performances: In cooperation with schools and youth facilities on site, staging-related workshops are carried out by students of the theater pedagogy student body, as well as assistance for direction, stage lighting and stage technology.
