Landesbühne

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Landesbühne (also: Landestheater ) is a common form of organization of public theater companies in Germany . Their special cultural-political mandate is to also play in areas that do not have a public theater. As a rule, less than half of the performances take place at the actual seat of the state theater, which is a key differentiator to the city and state theaters . The legal entity can lie with the respective federal state or the state stage is supported as a cooperation by several municipalities and regional authorities. The range of productions presented can be very diverse. All common categories can be found in the repertoire : drama , musical theater ( opera , operetta , musical ), ballet and children's and youth theater .
