Christian von der Heide (born May 7, 1979 in Hamburg ) is a German designer .

Life

Christian von der Heide grew up in Hamburg. After studying fashion design in Hamburg, he first worked for the designer Peter Schmidt , with whom he then founded a studio community. Christian von der Heide has been working in his own studios in Hamburg and Berlin since 2010. He works in the field of product, corporate, logo and editorial design. In addition to houses such as Strellson, 4711, Sahling Düfte, Impala Coffee or Carroux Caffee, his customers include Dita von Teese .

Product design

Christian von der Heide designs perfume bottles and packaging and is known for his work for Dita von Teese , for whose first perfume and her other fragrances Rouge, Erotique and Fleur Teese he designed, Strellson or Y3, the cooperation between Adidas and the Japanese Star designer Yōji Yamamoto . In addition to the bottle and packaging design, Christian von der Heide works in the areas of corporate, logo and editorial design.

Own collection

In December 2014 Christian von der Heide presented his first own brand, chvdh, which should consist of several objet trouvé editions . The first series consists of limited, handcrafted silver jewelry objects, the objets trouvés # 1, which are reminiscent of clips from beverage cans. Fragrances, wines and stationery under the company's own brand name chvdh are to follow.

Awards

Christian von der Heide was awarded the red dot design award 2010 and nominated for the German design award 2011. The Art Directors Club (ADC) eV invited Christian von der Heide to submit his work for the cream manufacturer Le Manoir by Peter Kessler. The first perfume by Dita von Teese, for which Christian von der Heide created the entire bottle and packaging design, was awarded the German Perfume Prize Duftstars 2012.
