Christina Bührmann

Christina Bührmann (born December 13, 1945 in Schafstädt ) is a German SPD politician. From 1994 to 1998 she was Lower Saxony 's Minister for Women. Bührmann is married and has one child.

Christina Bührmann completed an apprenticeship as a freight forwarder after school. On her second educational path, she made up her Abitur and then studied social sciences. After completing her studies, she worked at the University of Bremen and at the Berlin Science Center for Social Research .

Christina Bührmann joined the SPD in 1972. From 1986 to 1996 she was a member of the district council of the Verden district . From 1990 to 2008 she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . From 1994 to 1998 she was Lower Saxony's Minister for Women. Her predecessor in this office was Waltraud Schoppe , her successor Heidrun Merk . From 1995 to 1997 she was a member of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union, a specialized commission.

Christina Bührmann is a member of ver.di and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt .
