Christina Brabetz
Christina Brabetz (born October 8, 1993 in Windhoek , Namibia ) is a South African-German violinist .
Life
Brabetz attended the German school in Cape Town, won prizes at regional and national music competitions and was awarded the title “Most Promising Candidate”. At the age of eleven she appeared as a soloist with orchestra at the Hugo Lambrechts Concerto Festival in Cape Town. Two years later she was accepted into the violin class of Thomas Christian at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. The high point of her career was winning the TONALi music competition in 2010 , which included a solo concert conducted by Kurt Masur and u. a. Concerts at the Mecklenburg-West Pomerania Festival , the BASF concerts and other festivals followed.

The Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben is providing Christina Brabetz with a violin by Giambattista Guadagnini (Turin 1779) from the German Musical Instrument Fund.

- 2004 winner of the string section (junior), and winner of the title “Most Promising Candidate” of the SANLAM National Music Competition
- 2005 winner of the silver medal at the SANLAM National Music Competition
- 2003–2006 winner of gold awards at the Eisteddfodds in Cape Town, South Africa
- 2010 winner of the TONALi Grand Prix in Hamburg
- 2012 sponsorship award from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for young artists
