Christine Bickel

Christine Bickel-Vetsch (born November 10, 1961 ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). From 2010 to 2014 she was a member of the government council of the Canton of Glarus (Department of Education and Culture) and from 1998 to 2010 was a member of the District Administrator of the Canton of Glarus , which she presided over in 2003/04. From 2002 to 2010 she was President of the SP of the Canton of Glarus.

biography

Christine Bickel grew up in Basel and Regensdorf . After completing her apprenticeship as a dressmaker, she completed the work teacher seminar in Zurich. Later she trained to become a headmaster (1997) and business economist MAS / NPO (2004).

Bickel is married and has lived in Niederurnen since 1984 .

politics

In 1998 Bickel joined the SP Niederurnen and was elected to the Glarus district administrator in the same year. In 2003/04 she presided over the district administrator as the third woman in Glarus history. Christine Bickel was a member of various commissions in the district administration and was president of the commissions on education legislation (2002) and on municipal law (2009).

From 2002 to 2010 Bickel presided over the SP of the Canton of Glarus. In 2010 Christine Bickel was elected to the Glarus Government Council and headed the Department of Education and Culture until she was not re-elected in 2014.

Since January 1, 2015 she has been the manager of the Salem retirement and nursing home in Ennenda.
