Christine Budzikiewicz

Christine Budzikiewicz (* 1971 ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

She studied law at the Universities of Cologne , Lausanne and Bonn ; Funding by the German National Academic Foundation . After her first legal state examination in Cologne, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for International and Foreign Private Law at the University of Cologne with Alexander Lüderitz . After her second state examination in North Rhine-Westphalia, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for International and Foreign Private Law at the University of Cologne under Heinz-Peter Mansel . After completing his doctorate at the University of Cologne (Heinz-Peter Mansel) with a thesis on "Material status unit and conflict-of-law status improvement"; Awarded the Cologne University Prize and the Lüderitz Foundation's dissertation prize. After receiving the Hendrik-Casimir-Karl Ziegler Research Award from the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences, he did research at the Utrecht Center for European Research into Family Law and received funding from the German Research Foundation . In the 2013/2014 winter semester, she held a chair at the Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Bayreuth .

After completing his habilitation in 2014 at the University of Cologne (Heinz-Peter Mansel) with a paper on the subject of “The Obligations in Family Law”; Venia legendi for the subjects of civil law, international and European private law, comparative law and civil procedural law, she achieved first list positions in 2014 at the University of Hanover , the European University Viadrina and the Philipps University of Marburg .

In 2014 she was appointed university professor at the Philipps University of Marburg. She has been a member of the reform commission of the German Family Court Conference since 2017. In 2017 she was elected to the German Council for International Private Law (BMJV). She has been a deputy member of the Senate of the Philipps University of Marburg since 2017.

Her main research interests are questions of civil law and international private and procedural law.
