The constituency of Leipzig VIII was a state electoral district for the state elections in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. It had constituency number 12. For the state elections in 1994 , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of ​​the constituency of Leipzig VIII became part of one of the six constituencies in the city of Leipzig.

The constituency area comprised the city district West II with the residential districts 730 to 755.
