Christine Eichel

Christine Eichel (born October 15, 1959 in Buer , Lower Saxony ) is a German journalist and writer.

Life

Eichel studied philosophy , literature and musicology in Hamburg and did his doctorate on Theodor W. Adorno . The dissertation was published in 1983 under the title From the fatigue of the avant-garde to networking the arts in Suhrkamp Verlag. Eichel worked as a writer , director and presenter for television stations such as NDR, WDR and ZDF.

Christine Eichel published numerous novels and non-fiction books. 2001 to 2004 she held a visiting professorship at the Berlin University of the Arts at the Institute for Theory and Practice of Communication. From 2004 she was head of the “Salon” section of the monthly political magazine Cicero , where Eva Herman published the article “Emancipation - a mistake?” In May 2006 , which sparked heated debates; afterwards Christine Eichel was co-author of the much discussed book " The Eva Principle " by the ex- daily announcer Herman. From May 2010 onwards, Eichel headed the cultural department of the magazine “ Focus ” in Munich, which she left in September 2011.
