Christine Rohr (born August 2, 1969 in Trofaiach ) is an Austrian milliner , textile and fashion designer.

Life

Christine Rohr was born as the second child of Rosa and Alfred Rohr in Trofaiach .

In 1991 she completed the milliner class at the Vienna Fashion School in Schloss Hetzendorf . In 1992 she passed the master craftsman's examination as a model modist and has since been the only master craftsman in her profession in Styria. From 1993 she worked as a freelance milliner in Trofaiach, Vienna and Graz. In 2004 she opened her own studio in Graz and in 2005 completed her Magistra artium studies in art education and textile art at the University of Art in Linz .

From 1996 to 2008 Christine Rohr also worked for various Austrian theater productions, including the Mörbisch Seefestspiele , for which she designed and made headgear and animal costumes for 13 productions. At the Lifeball in Vienna she was responsible for the headdress of the debutants and prominent ball-goers several times. In 2015 she exhibited her hat creations as one of eight international milliners as part of the Dubai World Cup , which is considered the most highly endowed horse race in the world.

In order to teach the youngsters the basics and techniques of this craft, in 2009 she founded the Christine Rohr Academy - School for model fashion and textile design in Graz. She also holds workshops in fashion schools, vocational schools and teacher training colleges. Internationally she taught at the International Millinery Forum in Wagga Wagga / Australia. As a lecturer at the WIFI's master school for women's clothing, Christine Rohr teaches textile and fashion design as well as fashion drawing and materials science.

Awards

On April 24, 2013 she was awarded the Styrian coat of arms.

Functions

Until 2012 she was a functionary in the committee of the guild for clothing technology for eight years. As state and federal professional group spokeswoman for hat makers and millers, she helped shape the framework conditions for this trade.

She is the first president of the newly founded "International Federation of Milliners and Hatters" and was chairwoman of the fashion association "Masters 4 Fashion" until 2014.
