Christine Roll

Christine Roll (born April 28, 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German historian .

Life

Roll passed his Abitur in 1980 at the Hamburg Christianeum . She then began to study history and Russian in Hamburg, which she completed in Constance in 1986 with the first state examination. During her studies, she took on the tour guides for various study trips to different areas of the former Soviet Union . In 1991, Roll received his doctorate on the subject of "The Second Reich Regiment 1521–1530" and was awarded the prize for the promotion of young scientists in the district of Constance. Her doctoral supervisor was Horst Rabe . From 1997 to 2000 she received a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation . In 2003, she was at the University of Konstanz with the topic Foreign policy and political worldview. Tsar and Kaiser qualified as a professor in European politics in the 17th century .

In the 2005/06 winter semester, Christine Roll was appointed full professor at RWTH Aachen University to succeed Gudrun Gersmann . She teaches at the chair for early modern history and is the director of the university archive . Roll is chair of the Equal Opportunities Commission and has been a member of the RWTH Aachen Senate since 2010.

In addition to her university work, Roll has been writing as a specialist editor for the online review journal sehepunkte for the areas of imperial history and international relations since May 2004 .
