The Diocese of Yinchuan ( lat . : Dioecesis Nimsciianus ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Yinchuan in the People's Republic of China .

history

Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Vicariate Ninghsia with the Breve Christiani gregis on March 14, 1922 out of territory ceded by the Apostolic Vicariate Southwest Mongolia . With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised to the diocese on April 11, 1946.

John Baptist Liu Jingshan was the bishop of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association of the Diocese from 1984 to 2009 . Joseph Li Jing , with the consent of the Holy See , was appointed coadjutor bishop on December 21, 2007 , succeeding his predecessor in office in 2009.
